a new workshop coming up

I have enrolled into a Coptic Binding workshop with the very talented Liz Constable who is this amazing book artist you can find her at this site http://www.bookartstudios.co.nz/ She is amazing and so passionate about her work, you cannot help but adore her - personally I would love to keep her in the cupboard and take her out to inspire me......  OK that sounds like a crazy lady talking now....  you would understand if you met her.  So the workshop is on the 19th Feb at the Kowhai Art and Crafts centre north of Warkworth and there maybe a few seats left.  Its from 9.30am - 4.30pm and its $60 which includes ALL materials.  You could contact Gill Carlsson who is organizing the event at her email address carlssonb@orcon.net.nz she would love to hear from you.

(Don't you think that this is from the book Horton hears a who by Dr Seuss.  They were on the tables at the Stables Restaurant yesterday and they were such a delicious green and so lovely and soft.)

Hello Tuesday already

The long weekend is over.....  Yesterday was the last day for the Martakana exhibition which I sold one painting and I actually met the lady who bought it.  Thank you Debbie!!! It was so lovely to met you and I hope that you enjoy the painting as I did.  Your granddaughters will love it.

Today I started back at my creative book making, brilliant to get back and catch up with the girls.  I have loads of ideas in my head and I spent the afternoon making templates for new book sizes and writing/sketching thoughts.  It was wonderful back.  I cannot wait to get back to the studio on Monday so that I can start painting with the others again.  I also should have some confirmations with some Exhibition dates for 2011.  Everyone still seems to be on holiday around here, apart from a few storming days we have had such lovely days.  I just wished that I could of collected all of that rain we had on Friday in my water tank, my vegetables and picking garden would now be enjoying drinking that.  Speaking of tomatoes they have just exploded and I am picking so many everyday.  Nearly time for some chutney and sauce making I think

some flowers from my picking garden

Ok time to go - I promise this time that I will not wait another week until I post again.  Must go tomorrow I am going to be busy in the kitchen as our first Kindy Committee meeting for 2011 and I need to bake some nibbles for the supper.  Sweet dreams.
